F.I.N.E. Artist Program: Abstract Mark Making
March 8 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Join our F.I.N.E. Artist in Residence Oreen Cohen in the Art Studio as they lead visitors through exploring various materials such as charcoal as they experiment with abstract mark making to create works of art. This is a drop-in style workshop.
Oreen Cohen’s works are connected through materiality and gesture using the processes of sculptural metalwork, public art, painting, drawing, and performance art. Oreen has developed large-scale public and private commissions in curious locations. Cohen received a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Carnegie Mellon University and a BFA in Painting at the University at Buffalo. She has been active over the past twenty-five years participating in exhibitions, public projects, and residencies nationally and internationally. In the fall of 2023, she participated as a resident at the Joan Mitchell Foundation Residency in New Orleans. She is the mother of a creative 3.5-year-old who is often a collaborator in the work.
The Fresh, Innovative, Non-stop Expression (F.I.N.E.) Artist Residency is made possible by The Fine Foundation.
