Experiment with hues, mix shades and enjoy PPG Color Week.  A week filled with color-related activities in the MAKESHOP and the Studio.

Studio:

  • Explore CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and key) color theory through silkscreen printing. Use layers of color to create posters with depth and vibrancy.

  • Mix the rainbow from primary colors at the easels.  What wide assortment of tones can you create using red, yellow and blue?

  • Discover installation art through interactions with light. Contemporary art opens a whole new world of materials and experiences--explore what is means to make art!

MAKESHOP:

  • What are phosphorescence and bioluminescence? Learn about this natural phenomenon as we paint objects with glow in the dark paints and shine it under the black light to view the colors.

  • Help us grow our own colorful crystals, or add some color during the growing process!
