STORY TIME: Braille Literacy Month in Destination Empathy
Learn about Braille through hands-on reading all month long! Braille is a way of writing and reading by feeling instead of seeing.
Listen to stories and touch Braille words during this special story time in our temporary exhibit, Destination Empathy.
This program is presented as part of Braille Literacy Month. Braille is a code of raised dots to make text readable for individuals with low vision. It is named after it’s inventor, Louis Braille, who was born on January 4, 1809 and lost his sight as a child. January has been declared Braille Literacy Month to celebrate his life and honor his legacy.
