Annual Day of Caring (& Cleaning) at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh
Museum Closes to Show Some Love for Exhibits, Spaces
Tuesday, September 4
9:30 am - 3:00 pm
For the past 5 years, on one specific day per year – the day after Labor Day to be exact - theChildren’s Museum of Pittsburgh closes to the public for its Annual Day of Caring.
On this day, after a year of hosting 250,000 visitors, ALL staff members (full-time and part-time) join together to do anextra “deep cleaning” of the Museum.
From the Executive Director, to Admissions Desk staffers to Museum Educators, all hands will be on deck on September 4 for the Museum’s 6th annual “Day of Caring”…to climb ladders above ledges - go underneath climbers, donning gloves and aprons to scrub, wipe and polish, walls, ledges, windows and a variety of other hard to-get-to places in the Museum.
This year Museum staffers are delighted to be welcoming cleaning reinforcements on September 4, whenvolunteersfromPittsburgh Area Home Depot stores, along side volunteers from Pittsburgh Cares, student-volunteers from CCAC-Northside Campus, and a group of Museum Fans roll-up their sleeves and lend a hand to join in this top-to-bottom annual Day of Caring (and Cleaning) at Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
