Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to explore how different natural pigments can be used to create paint! Learners will use commonly found household items for their exploration and will have the opportunity to smell and feel their paintings. 

Visitors will use items like spices, teabags, and water to create with. 

This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.

Nursery Sensory Play: Scent Sachets

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to create your own scent sachet with fresh spring scents! Children will notice how different smells make us feel and experiment with scent combinations.

We’ll ask questions like, is this sweet? is this stinky?

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to explore how natural materials can be used as art tools! We will try using items from nature like moss and natural sponge to make our own stamps, explore texture, and paint.

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to create ribbon dancers! Explore different ribbon, yarn, and flagging tape materials to tie onto a small hoop, which can be held while we move and dance or move our bodies!

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery for a color mixing lab! We will explore our primary colors – red, yellow, and blue, and try mixing new colors! Color wheels will be available to help us mix our favorite colors.

Nursery Sensory Play: Shadow Puppets

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to create your own shadow puppet! Learners will use materials to explore how light passes through objects to make shadow patterns and can use items like paper, scissors, and popsicle sticks to design their own puppet!
