Closures
The Children’s Museum and MuseumLab are closed on the following days:
- Labor Day and days following for training and maintenance (Sept 7 – 11), Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4)
- Select Wednesdays during the school year

food & drink

Bean Sprouts, located in our Café area, offers a variety of choices for the entire family, including picky eaters and those with allergies and other dietary challenges.
Open 10:00 am – 4:00 pm when the Children’s Museum is open. Learn more.

You are welcome to bring your own lunch or snack and enjoy it in the Café during your visit. We ask that you do not bring food into the exhibit areas.
water fountains
Water fountains and water bottle fillers are available. Bottled water is permitted in museum exhibit areas; other drinks are not permitted.
museum store
Our store offers a variety of unique, fun items to bring the museum experience home, including Mister Rogers product, puppets, maker kits, art supplies, bath toys, Museum-exclusive clothing and much more.

Frequent attention to cleanliness, as well as our touchless admission and hand sanitizers, help make for a healthy and safe visit.
photo + video policy
Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh may make, use and publicize photographic and videographic images and audio recordings of Museum visitors in public spaces of the facility, along with their first names and likenesses, for marketing and promoting the Museum, the activities, the Museum’s partners or collaborators, and for other business purposes. Visitors authorize the Museum to engage in such use and publicity without additional payment of any kind to them. Visitors further release, discharge and agree to hold harmless the Museum from any liability that may arise from such use and publicity, including without limitation any claims by visitors for libel or violation of any right of publicity or privacy. Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh also records security and surveillance video of public areas. This footage is proprietary to the museum and is not distributed or shared.
