Wills, Trusts and Planned Gifts

Planned gifts provide creative and flexible strategies for your estate and charitable planning. Some planned gifts provide you with income. Many can reduce your taxes. The greatest benefit, however, lies in knowing that by including the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in your estate planning, you will ensure innovative inclusive museum experiences are available for generations to come.

If you have named the Museum in a bequest or will, or would like to discuss ways you could make a planned gift, we are happy to help you get started. For more information, please contact Traci Weatherford-Brown at [email protected] or 412-322-5058, ext. 341.

Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are an increasingly popular way to make charitable donations that are both streamlined and flexible. With a DAF, donors can easily support the organizations they care about most by making a charitable contribution to the fund and receiving an immediate tax deduction. They can then suggest grants from the fund to organizations they want to support, including Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. By recommending a grant to the Museum through your DAF, you can support children and learners in a way that is easy and efficient.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies match the charitable donations made by their employees. If you or your spouse work for or are retired from a company that offers this benefit, your gift to the Children’s Museum may be doubled or even tripled. Please ask your company’s Human Resources department about matching gifts.

Employer Charitable Giving Programs

Many employers offer charitable giving programs that allow contributions to be directly deducted from your pay check. The Children’s Museum works with most employers to make your giving automatic and effortless. If your company participates in a United Way workplace campaign, or if you are a federal civilian, military or postal employee, we encourage you to give through your organization’s charitable giving programs.

When making a United Way donation, use the Children’s Museum’s code number 623.
