artist opportunities
Learn about opportunities we have for artists to be a part of our exhibits, residencies, programs and markets
In January 2026, the museum will be working with artist Eric Lennartson to create and install a large-scale site-specific work of art, TAPESCAPE.
We have two artist opportunities to create or display artwork in conjunction with the Tapescape exhibit.
Opportunity #1
Request for Proposals:
Tape Art Installations
The Museum seeks to commission artists to create site-specific installations in which some form of tape is the primary medium for creative interventions in other locations around the Museum.
Check out our Pinterest Board for examples of projects that have inspired this Request for Proposal.

FAQs
Q. Do I have to have worked with tape as a medium before?
A. No. Artists should have a demonstrated artistic portfolio, but it is fine if they have not worked with tape as a main medium in the past. This makes is important to have a detailed proposal on how you would implement the usage of tape for this project.
Q. Is there a specific type of tape I have to use in the installation?
A. No. “Tape” can be interpreted broadly and creatively.
Q. Can teams as well as individuals apply?
A. Yes, but the budget remains the same.
Q. Is there an age requirement?
A. Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
Q. When am I expected to install the work?
A. Artists will work with the project manager to set mutually agreed upon installation date(s) in the late January or early February 2026.
Q. Who owns the work I create for this project?
A. The Museum will own the work you create for this project, and you will own the intellectual property of the piece. You are free to create the piece again at different location.
