Call for Youth Artists Working
with Recycled Materials
Are you a young artist in grades K-12 who has worked with recycled materials?
Submit your work by MARCH 28 for a chance to have it featured in MuseumLab as part of the Youth Recycled Art Show opening on Saturday, April 18!
rules
Submissions must be made by Saturday, March 28 at 11:59 PM
- Artists must be in grades K-12 during the 2025/2026 school year, and be the primary creator of the work being submitted
- All work must feature recycled materials as a primary material of the art
- Accepted works must be picked up at MuseumLab on Pittsburgh’s North Side after the show. Artwork will not be returned by mail.
selection
A group of artists and Children’s Museum staff will make selections from the submitted works for the show. Selection will be based on:
- Interesting or skillful use of recycled materials
- Appropriateness for display
- Available size / space
Accepted artists will be notified by:
Friday, April 3, 2026
prizes
All accepted artists will be invited to the Museum for a reception on the opening day of the show, Saturday, April 18.
A jury will award prizes of recycled materials-related resources.
Artworks will be judged anonymously using only images, artist’s age and artwork title.

Artwork Drop Off
Selected artists must make arrangements to drop off artwork between Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 12, at MuseumLab, 6 Allegheny Square E, Pittsburgh PA, 15212.

Show Viewing
The Youth Recycled Art Show can be viewed during MuseumLab open hours, Saturdays and Sundays, Noon – 5:00 pm.

Each artist may submit up to three (3) pieces for consideration on the same form.
Please provide at least one (1) image of each artwork being submitted; this will be the basis for making show selections.

Past F.I.N.E. Artists
The F.I.N.E. Artist Residency series invited artists to exhibit their work and lead programs to introduce new and exciting art and art-making techniques to Museum visitors, staff and educators.
The program was intended to support emerging artists in their development, as well as give opportunities for established artists to the share their techniques with a wider audience.
