Join us for Kindergarten, Here I Come!, our annual kindergarten readiness event. Rising kindergarteners and their families can visit the museum, explore arts and making activities, ride a school bus, gather resources from partner organizations and more. We can’t wait to see the Class of 2039!
This event is FREE for rising kindergarten students plus one accompanying caregiver.
Additional family members can purchase discounted admission at $8 per person.
Children under age two are free every day.
Here are some activities you can enjoy at Kindergarten…Here I Come:
- Climb aboard and take a ride on a real school bus, and meet a crossing guard
- Try readiness skills activities such as shoelace tying and zippering
- See Rhea the Great Detective and the Case of the Missing Mrs. Bearington
An interactive children’s play written and directed by Dominique Briggs.Shows at 10:15 am, 11:15 am and 12:15 pm in the Art Studio
Presented in partnership with the New Hazlett Theater
- Make backpack key chains and friendship bracelets
- Explore the Children’s Museum
- Get valuable resources on topics such as vaccinations, library assets and healthy lunches and giveaways from our community partners including:
Allegheny County Library Association, VisAbility, PFLAG, Pittsburgh PCIT & Counseling, Reading Is Fundamental, Trying Together, Wesley Family Services, Girls Scouts of Western PA, WQED, Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
