Note that Allegheny Commons, the ring road around the Children’s Museum, is now a two-way road. Vehicle and bike traffic travel in both directions. Please be alert and cautious at intersections and when entering the road.

PAT bus route 54C stops near the Children’s Museum.

The Children’s Museum is just a short walk from the North Side Station on Port Authority‘s light rail system, aka the T.

by bike

Bike racks are located in front of the Children’s Museum and on the sidewalk leading to the Nova Place patio.

Parking

Parking options include the Museum’s two lots, a nearby parking garage and on-street parking.

Note: The Children’s Museum’s small parking lot is temporarily closed to accommodate work in our Backyard exhibit.

Museum Lot Rates

All Visitors:  $8

Pay prior to entering the Children’s Museum at the payment meters located in the lots and at the Museum’s back entrance.

Accepted forms of payment are credit, debit, quarters and one-dollar coins. (Change for paper bills may be available upon request at the admissions desk or museum store.) If meters are unavailable, please pay by text using the directions on the meters.

Overflow Parking

Parking is also available in the Nova Place Parking Garage. Exit tickets can be purchased at the Museum’s Admissions Desk.

Please note: During Heinz Field and PNC Park games, pay for your Nova Place Garage exit ticket at the Museum to receive the Museum rate. If you pay for an exit ticket at the Garage, you will be charged the Garage’s event rate.

Street Parking

City of Pittsburgh on-street metered parking is also available near the Children’s Museum.
