Dance Workshop: Dancehall Style

UPMC MyHealth Community

May 19, 2018

Join Choreographer Beth Hall for a Dancehall themed hip hop workshop! The Dancehall style originated in Jamaica in the 1970's. Today it has become more mainstream with artists like Rihanna, Sean Paul, and Major Lazer using Dancehall elements in their music.

Our workshop will begin with a performance by choreographer Beth Hall and a warm up stretch.  After that, we'll learn techniques including the willie bounce and other grooves. We'll even work together to learn a short dance routine. Don't forget to wear comfortable clothes to dance in, see you there!

Workshop Times:

  • 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm
  • 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm

This event is supported by UPMC MyHealth Community, an initiative of UPMC Health Plan.
