June 16 through August 22

Summer camps at Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and MuseumLab let kids explore art, making, nature, ceramics, game design, metalworking and a variety of other topics in a developmentally appropriate way on the largest campus for children in the country.

Weekly camps take full advantage of our award-winning exhibits, art studios, maker spaces and outdoor areas including Buhl Community Park  adjacent to the Museum, and include access to specialized tools and equipment.

Camp Rates

The prices listed below are for one child for one camp week:

*Please note the camp weeks of June 16 – 20 and June 30 – July 3 will be prorated as they will only be offered for 4 days.

MEMBER DISCOUNT

Children’s Museum members receive 10% off camp rates.  Museum members receive a code via email to use at registration to receive this discount (enter in the field “Promo Code”.)  If you did not receive a code or have questions, contact our Member Liaison at 412.322.5058 or  members@pittsburghkids.org.

Lunch Options

Campers are welcome to bring their own lunch. We are not able to refrigerate or heat lunches.

order from Bean Sprouts

You can also choose to order healthy, delicious lunches prepared daily by Bean Sprouts, the Museum’s café.  Bean Sprouts lunches can be added onto your summer camp registration at the time of purchase. Lunches must be ordered for the full week and you can indicate allergies, dietary restrictions or sensitivities at registration.

snacks & water

Healthy snacks will be provided daily.  Campers can fill their own water bottles throughout the day.

Scholarships

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh seeks to reduce financial barriers by offering a limited number of full summer camp scholarships for families receiving SNAP benefits. You may be required to present your SNAP EBT card (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Electronic Benefit Transfer) and identification to verify eligibility.

The Museum is also proud to offer a limited number of free metalworking camp spots for Pittsburgh Public School students in Grades 6 – 8 through the generous support of Arconic Foundation, as well as camps for students who attend Manchester Academic Charter School on the Museum’s campus.

If the demand for scholarships is bigger than the capacity of our scholarship program, eligible applicants will be selected via lottery.

If you do not confirm your scholarship acceptance by March 24, your spot may be offered to another applicant.

To Apply:

Fill out the Scholarship Application form online after you register your child(ren) for camp. You will need to indicate the age of the child you are applying for, and the camp week(s) you are interested in when you apply for a scholarship.

Cancellation policy

Campers can cancel or transfer their camp registration, pending availability, according to this timeline:

April 30

Last day campers can cancel or change their camp registration, pending availability, for a full refund

May 1 – May 31

Camp registration changes or cancellations made in this period will be refunded and charged a $25 fee per camp.

June 1

Camps cancelled on or after this date will not receive a refund.
