  • Gravity Room – this immersive illusion is a room with a floor tilted at a 25 degree angle to the floor of the museum and a slide as an exit.  What’s up, down, flat, slanted?
    Caution: The Gravity Room may make visitors with sensory sensitivities feel disoriented, nauseated and in some cases, experience seizures.  Due to its slant, strollers and wheelchairs are not permitted. Visitors who do not wish to use the slide can exit via the stairs.

design matters

This space was designed to offer widely varying items and experiences, with different colors, levels, patterns and textures. Alcoves and nooks allow for visitors to experience quieter moments. We showcase the Children’s Museum’s puppet collection, courtesy of Margo Lovelace, through an animated interactive that allows you to interact with this unique collection.
