Hands-on, Drop-in Workshop with Artist Sanchayan Ghosh

May 2 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Celebrate the opening of the 59th Carnegie International Exhibition with an all-ages, hands-on family workshop featuring artist Sanchayan Ghosh, who presents a public outdoor installation on the Children’s Museum campus as part of the exhibition.

Take part in large-scale, collaborative artmaking inspired by traditional Alpona drawing techniques from India. With paint made from rice powder and pigments, trace shadows and make marks on the ground surrounding Sanchayan’s artwork to share your memories of home and create a collective map.

This workshop is outdoors and does not require Museum admission; admission is required to visit the Children’s Museum.

Sanchayan Ghosh is an artist from Santiniketan, India, who engages in site-specific interactive art practices through workshop-based collective community dialogues and has worked closely with different theater formats across India.

Organized every four years by Carnegie Museum of Art, the Carnegie International is the longest-running exhibition of international art in North America. Learn more about the Carnegie International.
