This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

about the program

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is working with our on-site partners, Manchester Academic Charter Middle School (MACS) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Education, to build the capacity of museum and school staff through the establishment a Research Practice Partnership (RPP).

Through this work, the Museum, MACS, and the University of Pittsburgh will align museum educators, designers, researchers, classroom teachers and administrators to look closely at learning in schools and museums.

This partnership strives to expand the ideas about what learning is, and how learning happens. Through two distinct learning cultures, we support one another’s work, aspirations and goals, and are learning from each other. Ultimately, the goal of the RPP is to empower youth together.
