What colors and patterns can you make using light? Join us in MakeLab to try our long-exposure camera setup to “paint” with light.

This program takes place in Make Lab in MuseumLab.

MuseumLab is located next door to the Children’s Museum and is open 11:00 am – 5:00 pm from Dec 26 – 30 and Jan 2.
MuseumLab is open Noon – 3:00 pm on Dec 24 and 11:00 am – 3:00 pm on Dec 31.

Flags are a way to share with the world things that are important to you, like where you’re from, what sports teams you support, or who you love. Create your own flag using fabrics of every color and sewing techniques.

Glass Mosaics with Sarah Cohen

Artist Sarah Cohen will demonstrate her painterly glass mosaics in MakeLab from 1-4pm. Learn the basics of glass, the history of mosaics, and original mosaics within MuseumLab. Investigate color, shape, and composition  as you explore the artform.

Nursery Sensory Play: Color Lab

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery for a color mixing lab! We will explore our primary colors – red, yellow, and blue, and try mixing new colors! Color wheels will be available to help us mix our favorite colors. 

This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.

Watercolor Monotype Printing with Fiona Avocado

Join printmaker Fiona Avocado in MuseumLab for some experimental watercolor monotype printing. Create a drawing to screenprint on yardage as part of a collective piece, and/or make a print to take home.
