Beginning in fall 2023, Lilly Endowment Inc. challenged the children’s museum field to explore the topic of character development. The Museum’s Learning & Research Department supported this effort through ongoing research and evaluation about the topic, how it fits with the Museum’s mission, and how museum experiences can support character exploration among young children and families. We have engaged more than 1,000 people around this topic and have developed a position paper and summary report that share about this work.
