Join the musicians of Lullaby Project Pittsburgh to write a song in real time with other parents! As a group, you’ll make decisions about the style and lyrics of the song, and by the end we’ll have a full song (recording and lyrics) that you can take home to sing with your child.
This event will take place at MuseumLab, just next door to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. No songwriting experience is required.
Designed for families with children ages 2-4, children are encouraged to participate!

Join us in the Nursery to investigate the world around us! This week, we will explore out all the different tools we can use to look closely and learn about magnification. What can you find around the museum that looks different under a magnifying glass?

Join us in the Nursery to investigate the world around us! This week, we will explore the various textures of our world and inspect them up close–waaaay up close. Can you tell a zoomed-in image of a cantaloupe from a cockatoo? Put your lab coat on and check it out!

Join us in the Nursery to investigate the world around us! This week, we will explore Friends Underfoot. Examine jars collected from various environments in our neighborhood! Look for specimens from the pond or compost and meet your underfoot tiny neighbors. Put your lab coat on and examine why!

Nursery Sensory Play: Shadow Puppets
Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to create your own shadow puppet! Learners will use materials to explore how light passes through objects to make shadow patterns and can use items like paper, scissors, and popsicle sticks to design their own puppet!
This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.
Nursery: Fine Motor Mondays
Join us in the Nursery to develop muscle strength and hand eye coordination. This week, we will practice stretching rubber bands around pegboards and try making different geometric shapes, small and large.
This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support brain growth and give them an opportunity to develop muscles in our hands and eyes, but all visitors are welcome to join.
Nursery: Fine Motor Mondays
Join us in the Nursery to develop muscle strength and hand eye coordination. This week, we will practice stretching rubber bands around mini pumpkins to attempt to make rubber band balls that bounce.
This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support brain growth and give them an opportunity to develop muscles in our hands and eyes, but all visitors are welcome to join.
Nursery Storytime: Still This Love Goes On
Join us in the Nursery to celebrate Native American Heritage Month through storytelling. This week, we will read Still This Love Goes On by Buffy Sainte Marie and explore braiding sweetgrass.
