Cranberry Day Celebration
Exhibit Related Program
Cranberry Day is one of the many and most important thanksgiving celebrations for the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe; it gives the community a chance to give thanks to the creator for this fruit that has always helped the tribe survive. The celebration, traditionally observed on the second Tuesday of October, includes a grand harvest of the wild cranberry bogs, music, dancing, storytelling and of course a potluck feast with dishes that feature the most recent cranberry yield.
