Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh Selects 2018 Tough Artists

Pittsburgh, PA – May 18, 2018 – Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s Tough Art artist residency program connects artists from across the spectrum of all the arts to the resources and visitors at the Children’s Museum. Created in 2007, the residency offers established and emerging artists the opportunity to expand their skills and create artwork for one of the toughest venues for art - a children’s museum.

The Museum is pleased to announce the following artists selected for a 2018 Tough Art residency:

These artists will generate and implement interactive, immersive and/or collaborative projects, connecting the art-making process to the larger museum context and the museum visitor. Artists are tasked to make a direct impact on the visitor experience by creating an entirely new piece of art to be displayed in the Museum. Throughout the residency, artists prototype and evaluate their process to achieve the desired outcome.

Artists will be in residency at the Museum from June 2018 through August 2018. Final works of art will be exhibited at the Children’s Museum from September 2018 through January 2019.

Children’s Museum Pittsburgh is located on Pittsburgh’s historic North Side at 10 Children’s Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. For general information, call (412) 322-5058 and visit pittsburghkids.org.
