Children’s Citizenship Naturalization Ceremony
PITTSBURGH, PA (April 13, 2012) -- The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will present a Children’s Citizenship Naturalization Ceremony at Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh at which 23 children - representing the following 14 countries: Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovena, Bugaria, Canada, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Peru, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Ukraine, and Vietnam - will become U.S. citizens. The ceremony will include remarks by Valerie Tobias, Field Office Director, Pittsburgh Field Office U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and special guest Sheena Monin (Miss Pennsylvania, USA).
After the awarding of Citizenship Certificates, new young citizens will lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is located at 10 Children’s Way in Allegheny Square on Pittsburgh’s historic North Side, just a block from the National Aviary and 3 blocks from PNC Park. Museum hours are Monday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday, noon – 5:00 pm. Admission is $11 for children 2-18, $12 for adults and free for children under 2.
