Bean Sprouts is a hip & healthy café that offers a variety of choices for the entire family including those who have picky eaters, allergies and other dietary challenges.

Bean Sprouts’ award-winning Imaginibbles children’s menu empowers kids to make their own healthy choices.

Grown-ups are delighted with equally tempting adult choices and a coffee bar!

Bean Sprouts adheres to clean ingredient guidelines and features organic and sustainable foods, compostable packaging and eco-friendly design.

Bean Sprouts is open 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on days that Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is open.
Note:  The Museum is open Monday – Sunday and closed on select Wednesdays throughout the year  Check the Calendar of Events to plan your visit. 

Kitchen closes at 3:30 pm; drinks and packaged items are available until 4:00 pm.

You are welcome to bring your own lunch or snack and enjoy it in the Café during your visit.

We ask that you keep food and drink in the Café and do not bring it into the exhibit areas.  You may bring bottled water into the exhibit areas.

water fountains

Water fountains in the Children’s Museum and MuseumLab will not be operating. Water bottle fillers will be operating.

Bottled water is permitted in the exhibit areas.

COVID Safety Guidelines

We have arranged the seating to accommodate social distancing according to health and safety protocols. We ask that you maintain the seating arrangement when you visit the Café.

Outdoor seating is available in front of the Museum and in nearby Buhl Community Park, which has benches, an expansive lawn, and Cloud Arbor, a seasonal misting sculpture by Ned Kahn that is a favorite with children.
