Nursery Sensory Play: Scent Sachets
Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to create your own scent sachet with autumnal scents! Children will notice how different smells make us feel and experiment with scent combinations.
We’ll ask questions like, is this sweet? is this stinky?
This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.

Nursery Sensory Play: Autumn Sensory Bottles
Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to explore the change in the season! This week, we will explore natural materials, sound, and texture by filling our own Autumnal Sensory Bottles. Tricks and treats will be provided to seek for within the Sensory Bottle.
This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.
Nursery Sensory Play: natural paint brushes
Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to explore the season change with paint! We will use items such as wheat, corn husks, and pine cones to make marks with our paint and test out creating natural paint brushes.
This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.
Nursery Sensory Play: autumn sculptures
Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to explore the change in seasons! This week, we will use air dry clay to cast, sculpt, and set autumn with found materials from around the Museum. Acorns, leaves, corn husks and other autumnal bits will be provided to explore.
Sculptures will be able to be taken home to enjoy throughout the season!

Join Hannah and Burdock in our Community Garden in front of the Museum every Wednesday morning from 11:00 -11:45 am to help tend the garden.
Each week we will learn basic tips and tricks about how to care for a garden, while having an opportunity to explore sensory play and develop motor skills. This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, but all are welcome to attend!
Activities are weather permitting, but don’t be afraid to get wet.
This program does not require museum admission and is free and open to the public.
