Free March Admission for First Responders

All first responders receive one free admission in March per transaction.

Weekdays only – must be purchased in person

Official first-responder credentials and matching identification required.

Free admission for first responders is made possible through the generosity of Bank of America.

Standing Discounts

Discounts must be used individually and not combined with other Museum discounts or for group visits.

Member Guests

Members may purchase guests admission at 20% off the regular admission price.  You have the option to purchase member guest tickets when you log in as a member to reserve your tickets online.

free admission days

The Children’s Museum offers several free admission days each year, typically one each season.  Check the Calendar of Events for our next day.

AAA Members

$1 off admission up to 5 people with current AAA membership card.

Admission tickets must be purchased in person at our Admissions desk; not available for online purchase. 

Military Families

We offer a discounted admission of $5 to active, retired and veteran military members (military ID holder only), which includes active Reserve and active National Guard.  Active, retired or veteran military ID required.

Family members of active military members also receive $5 admission (up to 4 people) by presenting their dependent ID card (DD Form 1173). Active military member does NOT need to be present.

This discount requires that you purchase admission tickets IN PERSON at our Admissions desk and is not available for online purchase. A valid military ID described above must be presented when you check in.  

We offer free admission to active-duty military personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families through the Blue Star Museums program from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day.

Museums for All

Those who receive food or medical benefits with an EBT card can get reduced admission to the Children’s Museum as part of the Museums for All program:

  • All PA ACCESS card holders and PA ACCESS EBT card holders receive $2 admission each, up to 4 people (including the cardholder). PA ACCESS or ACCESS EBT card and photo ID for EACH ADULT being admitted on the card required. Adult IDs must show same address as cardholder. Limit one card per household.
  • All SNAP EBT card holders from any state receive $2 admission each, up to 4 people (including the cardholder).

RAD Pass

The Children’s Museum is proud to be part of the RAD Pass program that offers Allegheny County library card holders ages 18+ free or discounted access to the region’s cultural assets. We offer free admission (up to 4 per family) on select days each week for qualifying visitors.  Visit radpass.org to learn more and reserve a pass. 

therapeutic support staff

We offer free admission to any therapeutic staff support, counselor, doctor, therapist or nurse that accompanies a visitor as part of their professional responsibilities.

UPMC Health Plan Members

We offer $3 off admission up to 4 people for active UPMC Health Plan members.

Admission tickets must be purchased in person at our Admissions desk; not available for online purchase.  A valid UPMC Health Plan card must be presented when you check in.  

VisitPITTSBURGH Show Your Badge Program 2024

All convention attendees at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center receive a 50% discount on one adult admission,

Reciprocal Admission

Association of Children's Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network

If you are a member of another children’s museum in the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network, you can receive 50% off admission up to 6 people listed on your institution’s membership.

You must present a current membership card from an ACM Reciprocal Network museum with the ACM Reciprocal Network logo on the card and a valid photo ID with proof of residence to receive this discount.

Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program

If you are a current member of an institution in the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program, you can receive free admission for up to 2 adults and up to 3 children listed on your institution’s membership.

Note:  You must live more than 90 miles away (“as the crow flies”) from Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh for benefits to apply.  Membership to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is not reciprocal with membership to Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, PA) or the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum (Canton, OH), and vice versa.
