We have implemented a timed ticketing online reservation system to ensure a safe and comfortable visit for everyone.

We strongly encourage all visitors to reserve tickets for the day and time you wish to visit. Quantities are limited and tickets may not be available for walk-up visitors.

Seasonal Discounts

Blue Star Museums Discount

Free admission for active, retired and veteran military members and up to 5 family members, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Active, retired or veteran military ID required. Family members of active military members receive free admission (up to 5 people) by presenting their dependent ID card (DD Form 1173) at Admissions. Active military member does NOT need to be present.

To receive this discount, enter code MIL21 when purchasing tickets online, or call 412.322.5058 and choose option 1.

Please note that the Museum is closed on Labor Day.

Standing Discounts

Note: Each discount may only be used individually and not in conjunction with other Museum discounts or for group visits.

Member Guests

Members may purchase guests admission at $3 off the regular admission price.  You have the option to purchase member guest tickets when you log in as a member to reserve your tickets online.

Museums for All

Those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain reduced admission to the Children’s Museum by presenting their EBT card as part of the Museums for All program:

  • All PA ACCESS card holders (yellow card) and PA ACCESS EBT card holders (green card) receive $2 admission each, up to 4 people (including the cardholder). PA ACCESS or ACCESS EBT card and photo ID for EACH ADULT being admitted on the card required. Adult IDs must show same address as cardholder. Limit one card per household.
  • All SNAP EBT card holders from any state receive $2 admission each, up to 4 people (including the cardholder).

To receive this discount, choose the “Museums for All” category when purchasing tickets online. 

You must present a valid ACCESS or SNAP card at Admissions when you visit to receive this discount.

Reciprocal Admission

Association of Children's Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network

If you are a member of another children’s museum in the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network, you can receive 50% off admission up to 6 people listed on your institution’s membership.

How to Redeem

Call 412.322.5058, ext 363, for a code you can use online to receive reciprocal admission.

You must present a current membership card from an ACM Reciprocal Network museum with the ACM Reciprocal Network logo on the card and a valid photo ID with proof of residence at Admissions when you visit to receive this discount.

Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program

If you are a current member of an institution in the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program, you can receive free admission for up to two adults and up to three children listed on your institution’s membership.

Please visit the ASTC website for a complete listing of participating institutions and restrictions.

You must live more than 90 miles away (“as the crow flies”) from Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh for benefits to apply.

You must present a current membership card from an institution in the ASTC Travel Passport Program and a valid photo ID with proof of residence at Admissions when you visit to receive this discount.

Note: Membership to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is not reciprocal with membership to Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, PA) or the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum(Canton, OH), and vice versa.
