Youth Workshop Series: Drawing Robots
Youth Workshop Series
Create your own drawing machine. Start simple by learning how to connect circuits, and then progress your skills towards basic programming. Using a device called Micro:bits, program a motor to power your drawing machine. Use recycled materials and circuits to build your robot, and then expand on this idea by programming simple commands in an easy to use block based coding platform. No coding or electronics experience is necessary.
Workshops are $5 per participant and advanced registration is required. Click here to register.
Museum admission is NOT required to attend the workshop. Participants may be dropped off by a parent or guardian in the Museum lobby and will be escorted to the workshop by a Museum staff member after their registration has been verified. After the workshop is over, participants can be picked up in the Museum lobby. Museum admission must be purchased if participant plans to visit the Museum before or after the duration of the workshop.
The Youth Workshops Series is designed for youth ages 10 and up, and takes a more in-depth look into a variety of MAKESHOP and Studio activities. Check the calendar - and the left margin on this page - to find future workshops in the Youth Workshop Series.
