Nursery Sensory Play: Shadow Puppets

Nursery Sensory Play: Shadow Puppets

Join Aermine and Sabrina in the Nursery to create your own shadow puppet! Learners will use materials to explore how light passes through objects to make shadow patterns and can use items like paper, scissors, and popsicle sticks to design their own puppet!

This program is designed with our youngest visitors in mind, to support cognitive growth and give them an opportunity to develop motor skills, but all visitors are welcome to join. Sensory play can also be calming and soothing.

Emotions as Puppets

Each emotion in Disney and Pixar’s hit animated feature Inside Out was created to resemble a basic shape: a star for Joy, teardrop for Sadness, fire brick for Anger, a piece of broccoli for disgust and a raw nerve for Fear.

What would an emotion look like in the form of a puppet? What would they wear, how would they act? Join us in the Studio and let’s make these puppets come to life!
