Neurodivergent youth ages 8-12 and their families are invited to join us for a free sensory-friendly morning at MuseumLab! Try out hands-on engineering and design activities designed with neurodivergent learners in mind and explore interactive museum exhibits before they open to the general public.

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is part of a research project funded by the National Science Foundation (DRL 2313850) to create activities that are accessible to neurodivergent learners, based on input from youth. Share your thoughts with us and receive a free gift.

Youth Night: PALentine’s Day (6th-8th graders)

Join us for a PALentine’s Day-themed Youth Night! Bring your besties and buddies for an evening of activities, games, and snacks.

Activities include:

  • Creating laser-cut wax seals
  • Paper marbling and card making
  • Metal-stamped conversation hearts
  • Silent Disco
  • Friendship bracelets and pins
  • Visiting the game room for a chance to win prizes

Also enjoy a waffle bar and build-your-own snack mix.

This is a parent-free event designed for youth in grades 6 – 8 (or equivalent ages.)

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is part of a research project funded by the National Science Foundation (DRL 2313850) to create activities that are accessible to neurodivergent learners, based on input from youth. Families who test out activities and share their feedback with researchers via a survey and interview will receive 2 family passes, each good for free admission to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and MuseumLab for up to 5 people, and a free gift bag. To participate in this study, please complete our consent form in advance. Please note, we have a limited number of open slots available for this opportunity, which will be granted on a first come, first served basis. Families are welcome to attend the event whether or not they choose to participate in the survey and interview portion of the program.

Youth Night is an evening of games, music, making stuff, prizes and snacks in one of the coolest spaces in the city, MuseumLab!

The theme for this month’s Youth Night is “Chill Out”. We will feature games inspired by the Olympics, and activities such as:

  • Photo altering
  • Trinket shop
  • Jewelry making
  • Ice painting

Don’t miss a chance to explore the immersive installations of Gymlacium and Chroma Maze too.

For 6th-8th graders (or equivalent ages) only.

Advance registration is recommended but walkups are welcome!  Parents must be present for walkup entries.
